About Stuart

Stuart was born in July 1988 and from a very young age, he has been interested in models and animation. Armed with copious amounts of plasticine and pencils, Stuart spent most of his childhood drawing and making 3D models of his designs.

Stuart developed his skills as an artist to create a definitive cartoon style; a hybrid of 'Beano' and 'Viz' characters with personal traits thrown in. Developing a keen interest with computers, Stuart started work in a digital medium, using Flash and Photoshop to create crude cartoons and animations of him and his friends, as well as some more obscure characters. After receiving good grades at school and moving onto A levels, studying ICT, Design and Media Studies, Stuart realised the opportunities in Maya and 3D work had to offer.

Stuart, the Animator
Stuart enrolled at De Montfort University, doing a BA in Animation Design, where he learnt the tricks and trades of Maya and animation in this fresh, new medium. Working with a friend on the course, the first major masterpiece entitled 'Magboy' was born. Over the years, Stuart developed his modelling, rigging, texturing and animation skills to produce a range of characters in his work, much how he used to as a child with his plasticine army of oddballs.

Stuart's major project 'May Cause Side Effects' helped him gain a First Class Honours at DMU. Since leaving university, Stuart has been involved in some work for RJDM, a Northamptonshire based animation studio, as a freelance 3D generalist. Currently he is employed as an animator at Jagex, a Cambridge based games studio. He is also spending his free time perfecting his skills further as a valuable member of the animation industry.
